Glaxo Smith Kline Event Mural

On the occasion of a large event for the pharmaceutical and health sector organised by Glaxo Smith Kline in Madrid, Spain, I was commissioned to design a large abstract style mural that would serve as visual support for the event’s slogan “VacunArte, the art of prevention”. This composition also served as Key Visual for the development of all kinds of graphic elements for the event.
The aim was to fit a subtle reference to the world of art, and given that the mural was to be done in an abstract style, I worked on a composition made up of brushstrokes of impasto combining different colours, predominantly the brand’s corporate orange.

Inspiration

My inspiration for the visual style of this mural and Key Visual comes from art, of course. I have always been fascinated by the texture of the impasto, its volume and nuances, its imperfections… from this basic element I let myself be carried away by inspiration to recreate through abstract strokes a composition that reflects the union between the world of health and art.
Can there be a link between art and health prevention? Health allows us to live longer and above all with a better quality of life, and this allows us to enjoy the pleasures of life, including art in all its facets. I believe that health and art can be linked, and my visual work tries to reflect this link.
