I was privileged to be commissioned by NFT Sky Bar, an exclusive venue nestled on the terrace of the four-star nhow Frankfurt hotel, for a unique design project. Towering over the city, this night bar holds the distinction of being the highest venue in Frankfurt, a hub of the city’s cultural life pulsating with electronic and live music events since its inauguration.

As part of NFT Sky Bar’s commitment to art, I was invited to create a second collection of NFTs, following the success of the first collection, Metartverse, in 2022. This time, I derived inspiration from a fresh addition to the bar’s cocktail menu, the Pink Spritz, a vibrant concoction featuring grapefruit.

My creation, “Grapefruit Island,” is an animated piece that encapsulates the tranquility, joy, and lightness of summer. In this work, a grapefruit springs to life, transforming into the heart of a fantastical amusement park brimming with fantasy and sensations.

My visual style for this piece was influenced by digital creators in the realm of 3D art, a domain that has seen a growing trend in the past decade towards serene compositions where select elements exhibit continuous, harmonious movement within static graphics.

In “Grapefruit Island,” I sought to capture the tranquility, serenity, and balance we often associate with the languid pace of summer days and the relaxing respite of holidays. The goal was to evoke the placidity of sunny days, a sensory experience that resonates with everyone.
