SIX COMPOSITIONS UNITED ON A LARGE WALL
THE ART OF BANKNOTES
Due to the architectural context of the walls of the hotel restaurant, periodically enclosed with vertical interruptions, as well as an interior design that includes elements that cover part of the walls, the 6 horizontal art pieces created for this space are only partially visible. Despite this handicap, the proposal created for this area of the hotel is iconic and symbolic, as, under the title ‘The art of banknotes’, its meaning connects directly with the creative concept of the project was this hotel.
This homage to the timeless art behind paper money (banknotes) is materialised through the creation of a series of designs inspired by a fictitious currency and central bank, the ‘Nhows’ and the ‘Bank of Nhowland’. The compositions are characterised by a surrealist style and the influence of Pop Art. As in the real banknotes, each of these imaginary banknotes features an important historical figure, in this case transformed through a daring and irreverent prism.
Each banknote is unique, with no common elements between all the pieces. The colour palette is consistent with that of the Nhow brand, with the intention of enhancing the concept of a currency connected to the hotel chain.
