Nhow is an international hotel chain based on a disruptive concept in which each hotel is in itself a unique work of art, with architecture and interior design that is carefully designed to the last detail, combined with innovative design.

NHOW FRANKFURT HOTEL

Nhow Franfurt is a four-star hotel located in Frankfurt, Germany. My works of art merge with the architecture and interior design, developed by the Rafael De La Hoz studio.

THE ART OF MONEY

Inspired by the concept of the hotel ‘The Art of Money’ I have developed an artistic proposal that explores the multiple facets of money as a concept and its impact on society. Following the irreverent line that characterizes Nhow hotels, the works combine symbolism and meaning through my characteristic visual codes, in this project strongly inspired by urban art and pop art.

THE ECONOMIC POWERS

The grand nhow penthouse suite with Views + VIP Lounge is the jewel in the hotel’s crown. A room with two beds facing each other, a spacious lounge and breathtaking views. In its ample spaces, luxury and details give the space an aura of majesty and power, but always maintaining the colourful and fresh tone of nhow.

My inspiration for the murals in this room comes from the concept of the powers of money, the struggle between the two economic powers of the world. The United States and China are the two great economic powers of the planet, and they continually fight each other in a never-ending contest.

The most controversial and irreverent symbolism is in the very concept and character of the works, which show a landscape that symbolises the economic battlefield, with wads of banknotes scattered everywhere and colour spilled everywhere to symbolise the blood of battle, as well as coloured smoke floating in the air (it’s all symbolism, I didn’t want to add any directly warlike elements because the tone of the creatives had to be fun and fresh, in line with the nhow brand).

TWO ARTS ON OPPOSITE WALLS

The two compositions that appear in the presidential room, facing each other, form an overall composition that symbolically expresses the concept I explained at the beginning of the text. Each pole or economic power is presided over by an iconic character, represented in a pop art aesthetic. There is no need to explain anything about the main characters, as they are well known to everyone. Each of them is shown with majesty and a sense of power, like a totem that rules everything, this representation symbolises the need to have absolute power over the world’s money that each of the two economic powers constantly exhibits.

As I said before, the colourful and pop style with which I have created the compositions gives a fun and cheerful air (something necessary taking into account that they are works that are placed inside the rooms) an ironic and irreverent symbolism.
