DANCING FABRICS

Inspired by the fabrics and scraps found in Renaissance works of art, I have created a series of 13 paintings for the hotel’s 174 rooms and suites in which pieces of fabric suspended in a vacuum are folded and bent to form an abstract silhouette that evokes a ballerina or dancer performing a dance movement.

This project is an invitation to the spectator to use their imagination to recreate the dance movement suggested in their mind. In this way, artist and spectator establish a creative and symbolic communication through which we build together, from an abstraction, the final scene.
