CORRIDORS

ART EXHIBITIONS OF THE FUTURE

I have developed a series of 112 paintings for the corridors of the 7 floors of the hotel that revolve around the concept of one of the cultural axes of Madrid: art.

Madrid is one of the great international art capitals: it is home to some of the most important museums in the world and treasures works by some of the most important artists of all time.

Based on this premise, I have created 16 series of 7 posters announcing exhibitions in an imaginary future. A selected group of the most relevant Spanish artists of the last decades are the protagonists of this collection of posters announcing fictitious exhibitions that would take place in the next few years or decades (1930s and 1940s of this century).

This exercise in retro-futurism establishes an exotic link with the city of Madrid through art and fantasy, and fills the corridors of the hotel with magic.

*I have created seven versions for each of the sixteen selected artists. Seven versions in seven languages (English, French, Swedish, Chinese, Japanese, Greek and Spanish), each language associated with one of the seven floors of the hotel.
