Madrid, one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals, is a perfect fusion of tradition and modernity. With a past rich in history, art and culture, it has adapted to the times and embraced innovation. Today, Madrid is a 21st century metropolis: its nightlife, modern restaurants and cultural offerings invite you to discover and experiment.
My artistic proposal for AVANI Alonso Martínez is a tribute to Madrid, my hometown and the city where I have lived most of my life.
In this series of works I explore the most representative elements: traditions, art, its mythical Metro network and its culture. A retro-futuristic journey in which I mix epochs with subtlety and imagination: from its most colourful past to an imagined future, passing through a diversity of visual styles and techniques.
GROUND FLOOR LOUNGE
MADRILENIAN CATS
The artistic proposal for the Lounge on the ground floor of the hotel, the series of five paintings ‘Gatos madrileños’, appeals to the tribal nickname of the gentilicio of Madrid, ‘cats’ to reflect the character and idiosyncrasy of the city and its people.
Each work reflects a scene set in the urban context, in iconic places such as the Plaza de Callao or the Gran Vía, or showing aspects associated with its gastronomy or famous nightlife.

RESTAURANTE
Vinyl ‘Churros & Hot Chocolate’.
Vinyl design for the wall of the hotel restaurant. The creative message is based on one of the symbols of Madrid: chocolate with churros. A tradition turned into an institution that could not be missing in this creative tribute to the city.
